Etsy has a Shop Local option so I queried our beautiful city Vancouver and was a little disappointed. There are not many Vancouver, BC shops online. I have been thinking of starting my own selling truffles and cookies and perhaps some stationary over the holidays, but we’ll see.

Here are todays found Etsy items from some of your local merchants:

Eco Cup Cozy – Blue Ovals

Girl With Panda Eggs Print

Neapolitan Ice Cream Sandwich Earrings

Cute Mystery Box

Floral Spats with White Pearl Snaps- These are by a girl I know, Sandra.
All I can say is ‘Kawaii!!’ I want these for myself!

Our polyphasic sleep failed, but for unexpected reasons.

I will be having surgery soon for endometriosis and I don’t want to be recovering from surgery and feeling extra horrible because of how it feels to switch back from polyphasic sleep to regular hours.

I really liked polyphasic sleep though and I look forward to a time in my life when I can commit to it long term. After I adjusted to my napping schedule I had a blast. I was painting, drawing, writing prose & music. My boyfriend has stopped as well. His reasons are also health ones. Quitting smoking. No one wants to be nicking out and sleep deprived simultaneously.

If you have any questions or need tips because you want to try it out too, feel free to ask.

Well, thats a wrap up to The Polyphasic Experiment!

Concert posters are a classy and affordable way to beautify your home. With lower prices ranging from $10-$40 one could frame said poster for a more sophisticated look and still have money left over for coffee. I found this link on Design*Sponge today. Here are some of my favorites:

Day one went fairly well. My nap schedule is 1:30, 5:30, 9:30. I found the am block between 6 and 9:30 to be the hardest but my most energetic time was after the following nap. So far I have been able to fall asleep for each nap. Haven’t had trouble there. I went for a walk around 2am to get some air and the blood flowing.

I am essentially depriving my body of sleep in order to train it to get that rem sleep during my scheduled naps. In doing so I found last night that I was irritable. Reading really helps. Keeps my interest in something peaked but I’m still resting essentially.

Well, I’m off for my 9:30pm nap.

Thank you Kristen Perry for the beautiful artwork!

My boyfriend started his polyphasic sleep cycle on Sunday. He’s been pretty diligent about napping on schedule but his 5:30am-9am awake block is the hardest for him so he’s been taking an extra little nap there just to buffer his adjustment period.

Don’t know what the hell I’m talking about?
Read about it here.

Tonight I will be starting my polyphasic sleep. The Uberman. Yes, I will be napping for 20 minutes, six times every 24 hours. My first nap will likely be after I’ve finished writing this post! We’ve timed our naps so that at least one of us is awake for the two year old son.

What am I going to be doing to try and stay awake?!

  • Read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
  • Sketch for stationary projects
  • Go for night time walks
  • Drink tea and stare at the wall
  • Special cuddle time ^^;

I’ll update here after my first 24 hours.
